New majority owner for GIWA Kunststofftechnik in the Augsburg region

At the turn of the year 2020/2021, Daniel Sieberer will take over an 80% share in GIWA GmbH, based in Westendorf in the Augsburg region, from the previous sole owner Julian Götzfried. With a workforce of around 200 employees, GIWA develops and produces sophisticated plastic parts for numerous industries. The company generates turnover of around 30 million euros with renowned customers such as the car manufacturer BMW, the office chair expert Interstuhl, and the food logistics specialist CHEP.

Daniel Sieberer explains: “My dream has always been to be an independent entrepreneur. GIWA is a fantastic company in the plastics processing industry with very experienced and motivated employees. GIWA has incredible expertise, from the development of plastic parts, to toolmaking, state-of-the-art production, and logistics and warehousing services. Furthermore, GIWA offers its customers assembly services. On this basis, I see a lot of potential for the future of GIWA and the Westendorf location.”

The previous owner and managing director Julian Götzfried says, “I am very proud of what we have achieved at GIWA in recent years. In addition to the modernization and automation of the total of 40 plastic injection moulding lines, we have also completely renewed the cooling system, with the result that GIWA now works even more efficiently in terms of energy and the environment. I am glad that we were able to convince Daniel Sieberer to purchase the company and serve as its future managing director. I look forward to supporting GIWA’s development as a future co-partner.”
Christine Götzfried, the wife of company founder Walter Götzfried who died in 2017, adds: “It was very important for us to place the succession of GIWA in the hands of a private individual who has an understanding of the family culture of the company and who gets involved in the company himself.”
Daniel Sieberer concludes, “I am incredibly excited about the new task of taking over the reins of management at GIWA and, together with the executives and employees, as well as the support of the Götzfried family, to developing GIWA further in the interest of the customers.”
