During a visit to GIWA GmbH in Westendorf, District Administrator Martin Sailer and Mayor Steffen Richter were able to see for themselves how the company uses and develops classic plastics in an innovative and sustainable way. Under the guidance of Managing Director Daniel Sieberer, Sales Manager Christian Held, Operations Manager Paul Braun and Marketing Manager Melina Koch, the guests were able to see for themselves the advanced technologies and sustainable production processes at GIWA.

Sustainable Advancements in the Football Stadium: Bundesliga Club uses recycled stadium seats from GIWA

The Bundesliga football club from Leipzig is exemplifying environmental protection and sustainability. In 2023, they completed a significant project underscoring their commitment to ecological responsibility. A total of 30,000 innovative stadium seats, made from up to 90 percent recycled plastic, were installed. Esteemed experts, including those from GIWA, collaborated on this endeavour. The initiative's roots trace back 20 years to the plastics expertise of GIWA.

The GIWA plastics cycle makes the plastics industry sustainable.

As one of the most sustainable plastics manufacturers (Focus Climate Protection 01-2022), GIWA has been investing in closed-loop plastics systems for three decades. Today, we already cover more than 60 percent of our material requirements with recycled plastics. This corresponds to 6,500 tons of valuable raw materials that we recycle within our plastics cycle.

The St. Georg Catholic Daycare Centre in our home parish of Westendorf is currently expanding its premises.

New majority owner for GIWA Kunststofftechnik in the Augsburg region

At the turn of the year 2020/2021, Daniel Sieberer will take over an 80% share in GIWA GmbH, based in Westendorf in the Augsburg region, from the previous sole owner Julian Götzfried. With a workforce of around 200 employees, GIWA develops and produces sophisticated plastic parts for numerous industries.
